Introduction
Klinik Putih, a general practitioner clinic in Cyberjaya, Selangor, opened at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, when walk-ins were nearly impossible. I developed and ran a full digital marketing strategy built on Google Ads and Facebook Ads to build awareness, acquire patients and establish a trustworthy brand presence entirely online.
Challenges
No walk-in traffic: physical marketing and footfall were restricted.
New market entrant: no existing patient base or online presence.
High local competition: established clinics with loyal followings.
Win patients, build credibility and generate sustainable revenue through digital channels alone.
Solution
1. Google Ads & Facebook Ads
Targeted campaigns for COVID-19 testing, vaccination and general check-ups
Continuous A/B testing and keyword optimisation to lift conversion
RM124,262.28 spent over the year, about RM10,355 a month, driving around 11,500 leads a month
2. Customer relationship management
A Customer Service Department of two staff following up every patient within three days of their visit
Stronger retention and a surge of positive Google Reviews that attracted new patients
3. “One Family Card” campaign
A loyalty programme that encouraged repeat visits and gathered patient data
More than 4,000 patients registered, building a database for remarketing
Conclusion
Within its first year Klinik Putih generated over 138,000 patient leads, RM3 million in gross sales and RM1.6 million in net profit from RM124,262.28 of ad spend, a 24× return. Even in a nationwide lockdown, data-driven marketing and real relationship-building turned a brand-new clinic into a multimillion-ringgit business.
